Edgecombe County, NC - Will of Zadock Peacock, 1852 ~~~~~~~~~~ Zadock Peacock Will Recorded Book F , Page 479 Zadoc Peacocks Last will & Testament Joseph & William Executors 1852 State of Northcarolina Edgecomb County I Zadock Peacock of Said county do this day make & declare this to be my last will and testament i maner & form following, viz, first I lend my beloved wife Sally Peacock my tract of land I bought of Abner Speight-Estimated to be two hundred & seventy five acres. I give her the crop that is on my tos nol? [top most?] land. I lend her all my negroes to gither with all my farming tools household & kitchen furntiure all my stock except such as I may hereafter give away my blacksmith tools all my carts buggy & harness all the above named property is loned to her the said Sally Peacock during her life time or widowhood I give her all the meat in the new smoke house all the lard soap & soap grees all the old corn. I give to my son William Peacock all the balance of my tract of land I bought of Samuel Speight Except what I have deeded a way Estimate at one hundred & eighty acres or there abouts to have possession the 1st of January not to him & his heirs for ever also I give him my one eyed blar_ fand bay filly one bed the stead & furniture at the death or marriage of my wife. I give my tract of land where I now live that I have loned my wife to my two children Sally M. Peacock & James B Peacock to them & their heirs for ever to be equally divided I also give Sally M Peacock my Poianna & one year old colt bay filly six sitting chairs her choice & one bed the stead & furniture her choice. I also give my son James B. Peacock one year old horse colt one bed the stead & furniture, I give my sons Calvin Gastion & William Peacock all of them one bed the stead & furniture each Also I give my son Gastion Peacock the sum of four hundred & fifty dollars a year for four years to be paid him yearly by my Executors hereafter named, my will & desire is that at the death or marriage of my wife, that all my negroes & all my other property be equally divided between my children Joseph M Peacock Laurance Peacock Calvin Peacock William Peacock Gastin Peacock Sally M Peacock & James B Peacoks, that is all of my property that I have not heretofore given away be equally divided among the above named children or such of them as may be living at that time. lastly I nominate my two sons Joseph M Peacock & William Peacock my Executors to Execute this my last will & testament to all intents & purposes given under my hand & sealed this 16th day of June 1852.
