NC Deed Book 2-671 written 09 Apr, 1857 This Indenture made the Ninth day of April in the year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and fifty seven between James H. Wall of the County of Forsyth and State of North Carolina of the one part, and Lewis E. Grabs of the County of Stokes and State of North Carolina of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jas H. Wall for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred to him in the hand paid by the said Lewis E. Grabs, the receipt where of the said Jas H. Wall does hereby acknowledge has given, Granted, Bargained and Sold, Alins and Confirmed, and by these Presents, do Give, Grant, Bargain and Sell. Alins and confirms unto the Said Lewis E. Grabs his Heirs and Assigns forever, all that Tract, Piece or Parcel of Land situate lying and being in the County of Forsyth of State of North Carolina on the Waters of Parkers Creek & Bounded as follows: Beginning at a Stake I. H. Kreegers North East Corner, runs West on said Kreegers line crossing the Hollow Roads 58 chains to a Black Oak. E.Doubs corner then N. on his line 44 chains to a Stake man? is White Oak then East crossing a branch 15 chains & 20 Links to a Stake in William Longís line then South on his line 64 poles to those White Oaks, thence East 160 poles to a Post Oak, thence North 80 Degrees East 47 & 15 Links to a Small Poplar at the Branch, then down the meanders of the Branch South 65 Degrees East 54 Poles to a Small Poplar at the Branch, then Crossing the branch & running with the fence South 63 Degrees East 18 poles to a Stake , thence North 54 Degrees East with the fence 18 poles to an Alderbush, on the North bank of the Creek, then South 30 Degrees East 491/2 Poles to a Stake in the H. Briggs line, then South with his line 66 poles to a forked Black Oak, then South 80 Degrees West 116 Poles to a Black Oak marked 'H' thence North 30 Poles to the Beginning.. Containing 248 acresÖÖ There is more if interested you will need to get a copy From what I can read for my copy there is a usual ending of including mines waterways, horses, hogs, improvements, revisions etc but who knows what else..It is hard to read microfilmed copies from Forsyth County, Register of Deeds, which I found at the 5th St. Library in Winston-Salem, NC....
