WILLIAM McKINLEY COOKE

   William McKinley Cooke, Jr., who for the past year and a half had been 
associated here with his father in an electrical appliance business, died last 
Friday morning in Raiford Memorial Hospital after having undergone an 
appendectomy several days before.

   He was a veteran of World War II, having served overseas for several months.

   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jo Lynne Cooke; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. 
W.K. Cooke, Sr.; two brothers, Odell B., and Roscoe D. Cooke, of Carroll County; 
one half-brother, Elvin Culler, and one half-sister, Miss Hazel Culler, both of 
Carroll County.

   Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Franklin Baptist Church 
by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Burial was made in Woodlawn Cemetery, Winston-
Salem, N.C.
