His death was caused mostly from old age. Mr. Egbert was one of the most successful farmers of the county and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. He was in the city about a week ago and stated to a friend that he was gradually sinking. He felt as if he had only a short time to live. He had many warm friends in this city who were pained to learn of his death. The. Tbert was a verteran of the Confederacy as well as a Mexican War veteran and a large number of the members of the Norfleet Camp of Confederate Veterans attended the funeral services, which were conducted from the residence yesterday afternoon by Bishop Edward Rondthaler. The remains were laid to rest in the Salem Cemetery.
