GUY MCDONALD PHILLIPS
WINSTON-SALEM – Dr. Guy McDonald Phillips, 73, died Tuesday, June 18,
2002 at his home. Born in Bakersville, he was the son of the late Everett
Leon and Edna Greene Phillips. He was a graduate of the University of
North Carolina School of Dentistry and a member of the Dental Honor Society.
He was a Captain in the US Army. He opened a dental practice in Winston-Salem
in 1958 and continued until his retirement. He was preceded in death by
his wife, Mildred Ramsey Phillips; and a brother, Lawrence Phillips.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Eskridge; sons, Monte Phillips and
Mark Phillips; brothers, Dr. Kenneth R. Phillips, and Bruce L. Phillips;
sisters, Louise Galgou and Mary Hutchins; six grandchildren and one great
grandchild.
A private service will be held at the family cemetery. Memorials may be
made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Winston-Salem, 1100 C.S.
Stratford Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
