STARBUCK, of Company D, 57th Regiment North Carolina Volunteers, in the 20th year of his age. His parents both dying when he was a mere child, he was brought up by an affectionate aunt and uncle. SALATHIEL did not leave home at his country's first call, but when he found that his country really needed him to go in its defence, he at once shouldered his musket and commenced the hardships of camp life. Thus died a true patriot and soldier, fighting the enemies of his country and his home. He leaves a large circle of relatives and friends to moourn his loss. May his ashes rest in peace.
