In the name of God, Amen! I, Catherine Hein of Salem, County of Forsythe, State of North Carolina, being of sound mind and memory, but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence, do make & publish this my last Will & Testament, in manner & foorm following, that is to say: First, That my Executor (herein after named) shall provide for my body a decent burial, suitable to the wishes of my relations & firends, and pay all funeral expernses together with my just debts, howsoever & to whomsoever owing out of the monies that may first come into his hands as a part or parcel of my estate. I give & bequeath unto my nephew John Hein of Bethabara, Forsyth County, North Carolina, one large wooden box, & all the residue of my money should there be any. II. I give & bequeath unto Catharine Heine, wife of John Hine of Bethabara, Forsyth County, North Carolina, my Bedcurtains, my new cloak, my largest bandbox, my chequer'd counterpane, two flat irons, one tin kettle, one umberella, one lanthorn, two pair of scissors & all my caps. III. I give & bequeath unto my godchild Edward Hein, son of John & Catharina Hein of Bethabara, Forsyth County, my bureau & bookcase. IV. I give & bequeath unto Clementine Hein, daughter of John & Catharina Hein of Bethabara, Forsyth County, bby sewing box & my smalest bandbox, & also my Parasol. V. I give & bequeath unto my godchild Maria Hein, daughter of Henry Hein, decd, & of Mary Hein late Feiser, one cut glass goblet (one Indian basket) one small coffee pot, one quilt with light blue border, my shallow Indian basket. VI. I give & bequeath unto Lisette Hein, daughter of Henry Hein, decd, & of Mary Hein, late Feiser, married Mitschel, my square Paperbox, my spoolstand, my oval Willow twig baskett, my traveling bag, one brown shawl, my high Indian baskett. VII. I give & bequeath unto Christina Shulz, wife of Samuel Shulz, of Salem, Forsyth County, 2 Tablcloths & my gray silk handkerchief. VIII. I give & bequeath to Paulina Fokel one Silver Tablespoon, a large blue plate, & one white Dish, & two setts of kinfes & forks. IX. I give & bequeath unto Alice Shulz, daughter of Parmenio & Catharine Shulz, in Salem, two silver teaspoons, one plain quilt, one large gray shawl. X. I give & bequeath to Nancy Sanders two blankets, one comfort, & 1 black shawl & one long wooden box. XI. I give & bequeath untio Sarah Jane Mitschel, daughter of Orel & Lissette Mitschel, my Bedstead, Straw bag, straw pillow, underbed; the largest & the smalest pillows; & all the cases which belong to those pillows, & two sheets; on quilt with yelloish borders, & white counterpane. XII. I give & bequeath unto Sarah Catharina, daughter of Joseph & Heinrette Hein, near Bethabara, one featherbed & two casses, 2 pillows & all the casses which belong to those pillows, one quilt with deep blue borders, one Table, one Chest with drawers, one quilt blue checkd & one Bandbox. Two sheets. XIII. I give & bequeath unto John William, son of John Edwin and Rebecca Hein, one chest without drawers; one pillow with casses; 1 quilts next best & the oldest umbrella. XIII. I give & bequeath until Regina Hein, wife of Levin Hein, at Bethabara, the spinning wheel & reel. XV. It is my Will, that my remaining clothes, crockeryware, & all other goods & chattels not heretofore bequeathed, be divided in two equal parts, or shares, between Catharina Hein, wife of John Hein of Bethabara, - & Sophia Dorothea Boner, widow of Evan Boner, decd. And lastly, I do hereby costitute [sic] & appoint my nephew & trusty friend John Hein of Bethabara, Forsyth County, North Carolina, my lawful Executor, to all intents & purposes, to execute this my last Will & Testament, according to the true intent & meaning of the same, and every part & clause thereof, --hereby revoking & declaring utterly void all other Wills & Testaments by me heretofore made.
