Wolff, County of Forsythe, State of NC, do hereby make and ordain this as my last testament and will as follows. 1st to wife, it is my desire that all just debts be paid out of my estate by executors hereinafter named. 2nd - My real estate I dispose of and bequeath as follows, viz - My home plantation on Muddy Creek where I now live containing about (60) sixty acres also about (61) sixty one acres of my Mill Creek Place lying at the north east corner of said tract adjoining Thos. Moser and others, which I have had surveyed and mark'd off, beginning at said Moser's northeast corner Black Oak Mark'd L.B. and runs north and east from that point I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Eliza during her natural life and at her death to my son Jasper H. Wolff and his heirs forever. The balance of my Mill Creek tract of land containing six hundred (600) acres I give and bequeath to my daughter Julia A. Hauser now (illegible) married with Dr. Rob. A. Hauser and to my son, Jno. A. Wolff, which I have caused to be surveyed and marked off equally in tracts of (300) three hundred acres each. Beginning at the above mentioned black oak marked LB and runs west 28 chains to a stone and pointer, south 20 1/2 chains to a stone and thence west passing over a blacksmith shop to a pile of stones and finishing on James Reich's line. The 300 acres on the north side of said line I give and bequeath to my daughter Julia A. Hauser and her heirs forever, and that part containing three hundred acres lying on the south side of said division line I give and bequeath to my son Jno. A Wolff and his heirs forever. 3rd - The balance of my estate I desire to be equally divided between my wife Eliza and daughter Julia and two sons, John and Jasper except that my son Jasper is to have the sum of three hundred dollars more than the others. In the division of my Negros it is my will and desire that my executors hereinafter named select (1) one person each who is the owner of slaves and my wife select one person to divide my said Negros by valuation as near equal for such party as possible and to assign by lot or otherwise to my wife Eliza and my (3) three other children aforesaid said Julia A. Hauser, Jno. A. Wolff and Jasper H. Wolff, to be theirs and their heirs forever and the portion of Negros and other estate assigned to my wife Eliza to be hers during her natural life but at her death to be equally divided between my daughter, Julia A. Hauser and my sons, Jno. and Jasper share and share alike to be theirs and their heirs forever. My other personal property to be divided or sold at the discretion of my executors. 4th - I hereby make and ordain my worthy friend and son in law Dr. R. A. Hauser and my beloved son Jno. A. wolff, my executors of this my lst will and testament in witness whereof I the said Jacob H. Wolff have this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this the 26th day of March 1860.
