Nov. 14, 1860 Written: November 9, 1860 Recorded: November 14, 1860 The Standard of Raleigh, N.C. Nov. 14, 1860 GREAT SALE OF LAND By Virtue of a Decree of the Court of Equity, made in the matter of the heirs at law of the late MAJOR JAS. H. YARBROUGH, deceased, at the Fall Term of Franklin Superior Court, I shall offer for sale, upon a credit of six, twelve, and eighteen months, the following tracts of land on the days following, to wit: On the 4th of December next, upon the premises, I shall expose to public sale the tract of land near the corporate limits of the town of Louisburg, known as the Home Tract, adjoining the land of DR. ELLIS MALONE, M.S. DAVIS, and others, containing 300 acres more or less. This is one of the most desirable residences in the County of Franklin; the dwelling house is new, and contains six good rooms, the kitchen and out houses are all new framed buildings and stables and barns are not equalled by any in this section of the country. The plantation is in good repair, and is in high state of cultivation. There are fine creek bottoms on the tract, thoroughly drained and the whole farm is well horizonalized and free of gullies. There is a large amount of timber and firewood on the tract. On the 6th of December next, upon the premises, I shall expose to public sale the tract of land in Franklin County known as the Carpenter Mill tract, lying on the Tar river and Carpenter's Creek containing 1500 acres, more or less. This tract of land will be divided into two or morre tracts as may be most advantageous. There is a good dwelling house, out houses, barns, stables, etc., all of which are new and in good repair; also a new storehouse. The plantation is of superior quality, lying on the Tar river and Carpenter's Creek, having been throughly drained and highly manured. There are 500 to 600 acres of low grounds on the tract -- some of which are in cultivation. The sale of this tract of land offers a rare chance to those wishing to purchase first-class farms. On the 11th of December next, I shall offer for sale at the Court House in the town of Louisburg, on a credit of twelve months, the following tract of land: The tract known as the Burnert tract, containing 50 acres more or less, adjoing the lands of WM. ANDREWS and others. Also one other tract known as the UZELL land adjoining the lands of WM. INSCO and others containing 130 acres more or less. Also one undivided interest of one-third in about 30 acres of land near the town of Louisburg, adjoining the lands of W.G. COLLINS and others. Also one undivided interest of one-third in three lots of land of about one-tenth of an acre in the town of Louisburg, known as Court-House lots. Also an undivided interest of one-eighth in a lot in the town of Louisburg, known as the Masonic Lodge. Bonds with sufficient security will be required in every instance, and the said bonds will bear interest from date. Louisburg, November 9, 1860 CHAS. H. THOMAS C.M.E. Additional Comments: Dr. Ellis Malone, M.S. Davis, Wm. Andrews, Wm. Insco, W.G. Collins, Chas. H. Thomas.
