Bridges Freeman for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds current money of the aforesd. State to him in hand paid at or before the ens- ealing and delivery hereof the Receipt is hereby acknowledged and the sd. Bridges Freeman to be the sd. Jacob Hartsfield doth hereby acquit & discharge hath granted bargained sold and delivered and firmly by these present doth fully and absolutely grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Jacob Hartsfield his heirs and assigns for ever a certain tract or parcell of land in Franklin County containing one hundred and eighty eight acres be the same more or less begining at a red oak Jacob Hartsfield's old corner on the south side of Andrews Creek runing east across the sd. creek fifty two poles to a pine in Womacks line thence north along Womacks & Hartsfiled and alfords line to Julius Alfords corner post oack thence west along the sd. Alford line to his corner pine so on a west course to a corner pine then south to a corner red oack then west to Bridges Freeman old corner post oack now John Cooleys then south to Jacob Hartsfields corner white oak then east along his line to corner hickory then south along the sd. Hartsfield line across the creek to the first station to conclude one hundred and eighty eight acres of land be the same more or less it being part of a tract of land granted to Bridges Freeman by grant from the State of North Carolina dated the twentieth day of September the fourth year of our Independence and year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine as the sd. grant will more fully show together with all houses out house and buildings thereon woods and under woods waters mines minerals mills hereditriments and appertenances to the sd. land belonging and appertaining and all his right title and interest in and to the sd. premises the reversion & reversions remainder & remainders rents issues & profits thereof and every part and parcell thereof with the appertenances thereunto belonging to have and to hold the sd. tract and parcel of land with all edifices profits priviledges hereditriments and appertenances to the same belonging to the sd. Jacob Hartsfield his heirs and assigns for ever he or they paying tax for the same and the sd. Bridges Freemand his heirs and assigns exrs. and admrs. doth covenant and agree that the above granted premises are free and clear of all charges & incumberances whatsoever and he the sd. Bridges Freeman for himself his heirs exrs. admrs. or assigns shall and will warrant secure and defend the property and sale of the sd. land and premises to the sd.
