8 Nov 1783

This Indenture made the Twenty Eighth day of November one Thousand Seven 
hundred and Eighty Three Between William West of the County of Franklin and 
State of North Carolina of the one part and John Rives of the County and State 
aforesd of the other part Witnesseth that the said William West for and in 
Consideration of the Sum of Sixty Pounds Specie to him in hand paid by the 
said John Rives the Receipt whereof the sd. William West doth hereby 
acknowledge himself therewith fully Satisfied hath Granted bargain’d sold and 
delivered and by these presents do grant Bargain sell and Deliver unto the 
said John Rives one Certain Tract or parcel of Land lying in the aforesaid 
County of Franklin on the waters of Buffalow Creek Containing one hundred 
Acres be the same more or Less Beginning at a corner Hickory in Isaac Hudsons 
line thence North to a Corner W Oak in Wm Hudsons line thence East along the 
Dividing line to Jacob Selfs line thence South along the said Line to a Corner 
pine in Osborne Jeffreys line thence West along the sd. Line to the first 
Station with all houses Orchards fences and Gardens woods and underwoods 
thereon or any ways appertaining also the Reversion & Reversions Remainder & 
Remainders and every part and parcel thereof to the only proper use and behoof 
of him the said John Rives his heirs and assigns for ever and the said William 
West doth Warrant the said Land and premises to be free and clear from all 
former Sales Gifts Grants Bargains or any other incumberance Whatsoever - In 
Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above

           December Court 1784 ~ 
This deed from William West to John Rives was proved by the oath of Thomas 
Trahock (sic ?) and on Motion was Ordered to be Regd.
                                  Testee  J. Robinson C.C.

The same is Truly Registered the 29th June 1784 ~
