Sudden Death of Mrs. Sydenham B. Alexander

The people of Charlotte were shocked late yesterday afternoon to hear of the 
sudden and unexpected death of Mrs. Louise Perry, the wife of Capt. Sydenham 
B. Alexander of this county. She died at the home of her father, Hon. B.J. 
Perry in Franklin county, at 11 o'clock yesterday morning, though the news of 
her death did not reach Charlotte until 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. Alexander left here last November to visit her father's house, being then 
in delicate health, though no alarm was felt about her. The first intimation 
that Capt. Alexander had of anything serious was when he received a telegram 
late yesterday informing him of the sudden death of his wife. The blow fell 
suddenly and with crushing effect upon him. He left at once on the night train 
and will reach Mr. Perry's home this evening. 

Capt. Alexander and Miss Perry were married about five years ago. No children 
survive the union. In his sore bereavement Capt. Alexander will have the 
heartfeld sympathies of his many friends in Charlotte and throught the State.
