this is my Mom and this is from memory
Ruth Pearce Love, 83, of 1132 Fuller Street, Raleigh died 8 Jul 2004 at her 
home. She was born 24 Aug 1921 in Franklin County to Furney Smith Pearce (5 Oct 
1886-9 Dec 1953)and Mattie Florence May (16 Oct 1884-12 Oct 1974). She married 
Wilbert Lee "John" Love on 25 Sep 1949 in Zebulon. She retired from the State 
of North Carolina having worked 13 years at Dorthea Dix Hospital prior to 
transferring to the Department of Corrections. She spent her entire life 
helping others. She was a very loving wife and Mother and she had a very 
special bond with her only grandchild, who affectionately called her "Mama 
Ruth". 


Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister; Vera Mae 
Pearce (26 Mar 1917-6 Mar 2004) and three brothers; Wallace Hayes Pearce (7 Aug 
1915-27 Nov 1937), Malcolm Furna Pearce (22 Aug 1919-24 Jun 1959) and Ovid 
Leonard Pearce (22 Sep 1923-3 Jul 1970).

Funeral services were held at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Youngsville and she 
was buried in the church cemetery. 

Surviving: Husband, Wilbert Lee "John" Love of the home; daughter, Brenda Love 
Gaffney and her husband Marcus of Raleigh, grandson, Michael Leonard Gaffney 
and his friend, Mary Beth Roye.
