Charlotte Holmes Pearce, 99, of New Bern, died 16 Jan 2006 at Craven Regional 
Medical Center in New Bern. Her grandson, Dr Rubert Benjamin Pearce III, 
resides in Morehead City.  

She was born 21 Jan 1906, to the late Sarah Elizabeth Whit and John Joseph 
Holmes in Clarksville, Va. She was reared near Youngsville and lived most of 
her adult life in Franklinton. She was a member of Franklinton Baptist Church 
and the ladies auxiliary of the American Legion. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert Benjamin Pearce; and her ten 
siblings, including sisters, Ginny Ramey of Garner, Elizabeth Pearce of 
Redding, Calif, Ida Green and Eunice Pearce of Youngsville; and brothers, 
Andrew Holmes of Batesville, SC, Robert Holmes of Myrtle Beach, SC, John Thomas 
Holmes of Wilson, David Holmes of Louisburg, Owen Holmes of Youngsville, and 
Carter Holmes of Bunn.

Surviving: daughter, Elizabeth Pearce Fuller of New Bern;
           son, Rubert Benjamin Pearce, Jr (Mary Jo) of Henderson;
           four additional grandchildren, Andrew Wade Fuller, Jr, Walter
           Brinson Fuller and Robert Reid Fuller, all of New Bern, and
           Charlotte Fuller Mandigo of Virginia Beach, Va;
           nine great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held 20 Jan 2006 at Fairview Cemetery, Franklinton.
