Rubert Benjamin Pearce Jr., 79, of Henderson, died 21 Apr 2006, at his home on 
Kerr Lake. He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Charlotte Holmes 
and Rubert Benjamin Pearce Sr. He graduated from Wake Forest College. He was a 
past post commander of the American Legion in Franklinton, where he was a 
member for 50 years. He was a member of the Forty & Eight and a World War II 
veteran of the US Navy.

Surviving: wife of 51 years, Mary Jo Husketh Pearce;
           son, Dr Rubert B "Bert" Pearce III (Laura) of Morehead City;
           sister, Elizabeth Fuller of New Bern;
           two granddaughters, Lauren Pearce and Blair Pearce.

Graveside services were held 24 Apr 2006 at the Fairview Cemetery in 
Franklinton.
