Bethel Maxine Johnson Ray was born 10 Dec 1924 to Rufus Harrison Johnson (7 May 1898
- 2 Sep 1986) and Adna M Pearce (7 Sep 1904 - 20 Sep 1988), and she died 23 Jan 2017. 
She retired from Westinghouse with 24 years service. 

She was preceded in death by her parents:
husband: Joseph Lee Ray (15 Mar 1924 - 14 Apr 2004)

two daughters-in-law: 
Diane Farrar Ray (26 Oct 1960 - 24 Jul 1997)
Bonita Baker Ray (24 Oct 1952 - 5 Jun 2006)

brother:  Hovan Harrison Johnson (15 Nov 1922 - 26 Apr 2001)

Surviving one daughter:  
Starr Ray Hamilton

two sons:  
Joseph Stan Ray and wife Debbie
Gregory Max Ray

Funeral services were held at Pearce Baptist Church and burial was in the church
cemetery. Arrangements were by Strickland Funeral Home in Wendell.
