Franklin County, NC - John Bowden Will

Will of JOHN BOWDEN, Franklin Co., NC - written on October 15, 1825, probated 
September Court 1830.  Will Book J, page 40.

	In the name of God Amen I JOHN BOWDEN of Franklin County N. Carolina 
being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God do this the 15th 
day of Oct in the year of our Lord 1825 make and publish this my last will 
and testament in manner following that is to say
	I lend unto my beloved wife MOLLY BOWDEN all my Estate both real and 
personal during her natural life
	Item.  I give unto my son ELIAS BOWDEN one dollar at the death of 
his mother to be raised out of my Estate and my desire is that all my Estate 
real and personal that is left at the death of my wife MOLLEY BOWDEN be Sold 
at publick Sale and the money arising therefrom be equally divided between 
my children that is to say JESE BOWDEN, SALLEY, NANCY, WILLIAM, ELIZABETH, 
DEMPSEY, BENNET, HIRAM, MARTHA, MARY, OTHA/ATHA,  ABEL, FRANCES and the 
children of my son JOHN BOWDEN to have a Share equal to one of my children 
equally divided between them
	And I hereby make and ordain my sons DEMPSEY and HIRAM BOWDEN 
Executors to this my last will and testament In Witness whereof I the Said 
JOHN BOWDEN have to this my last Will and Testament Set my hand and Seal 
the day and year above written
			John Bowden, Sen.
Signed Sealed published and declared by the said JOHN BOWDEN the testator 
as his last will and testament in the present of us who were present at the 
time of signing and sealing thereof
			Allen Bowden
			Brecken (?) Bowden
Franklin County.  September Sessions 1829
I hereby certify that the foregoing will was exhibited in open Court for 
probate and the ___ ___ duly proven by the oathes of Allen Bowden & 
Breckell/Brecken Bowden the subscribing witnesses thereto and was on ....
