Moore Will ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will of Martha A Moore 13th of August 1874, Franklin Co., NC, Will Book U, p. 102-103 I, MARTHA A MOORE, of the County of Franklin and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existance do make this my last will and Testament in manner and form following That is to say First that my Executors hereinafter named shall provide for my body a cecent burial suitable to the wishes of my relations and friends and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts howsowever and to whomsoever owing out of the moneys that may first come into their hands as a part or parcel of my estate Item. I lend unto my five sons to wit WILLIAM A MOORE, JAS. C. MOORE, R. A. MOORE, M.R. MOORE AND JOHN W. MOORE the tract of land whereon I now live to have and to haold each one his alloted share during the time of his natureal life then I give unto the bodily heirs of each the shares which shall be hereafter alloted to each one of my said sons that is to say Beginning on the Eastern end of my said tract of land to allot which first lot shall be lent aforesaid to my son W. A. MOORE to be set out by metes and bounds so as to include the house in which the said W.A. MOORE now lives all out houses and other improvements which he has put thereon And to my son R. A. MOORE I lend as aforesaid the lot which shall include my mansion house wherein I now live all out houses and other improvements to be set out by metes and bounds And to my son M.R. MOORE I lend as aforesaid the lot which shall by metes and bounds include the house in which he now lives all out houses and improvements that he has put thereon The remainder two shares whis(?) I lend as aforesaid to my two sons JNO C. MOORE and J.W. MOORE, I desire that the dividing line shall be run East to West from the dividing line of M.R. MOORE to the Cypress Cr to J.C. MOORE I desire shall be alloted the North end of said remainder to the south end to JOHN W. MOORE I also desire that the tract of land known as the Bridges tract Three shares of which I possess shall be divided between my said five sons lent as aforesaid to them alloting the said three shares to my sons W.A. MOORE & R.A. MOORE giving to my other named sons more of the tract of land on which Thine(?) All which land as aforesaid I do lend unto my said five sons to their use and benefit during their natural life after each of their deaths then I give unto their bodily heirs each heir of said sons to share and share alike of his or her fathers as allotted to him Item. I desire and will that in the valuation of each one of said lent lots no value shall be put on for any improvement by houses or building but let the several lots be valued as these (though?) was no improvements Item. The interest which I hold in a certain tract of land known as the one my mother sold to Green Ross. I desire shall be equally divided between my three daughters, to wit, LUZANY wife of R. STALLINGS, SARAH E. wife of A. S. HARRIS and MARTHA J. wife of G. W. HARRIS Item. In the division of my said land my will and desire is that it shall be valued to each one of my said sons at a fair cash valuation one paying over to the other the diference in valuation Item. If after the dividing and allotting said land it shall be found that the said real estate is worth more in value than the personal estate hereinafter mentioned shall be which personal property I desire shall be valued and alloted to each of my said thre daughters at a fair cash valuation together with the interest of land which I hold in the said Ross tract of land divided to them. Then my said sons shall pay over to my said daughters a sum of money sufficient to make the daughters shares equal with my sons. Item. AFter giving each of my said children one bed, bedstead & furniture, I desire that the remainder of my personal estate shall be valued & allotted as aforesaid to my daughters. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty sons WILLIAM A MOORE and JAMES C MOORE my lawful executors to all intents & purposes to execute this my last Will and Testament according to the true intent and meaning of same and every part and clause thereof hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other will and testaments by me heretofore made In witness whereof I the said MARTHA A. MOORE do hereunto set my hand and seal this the 18th day of May A.D. 1874. MARTHA A.
