Do make, ordain, declare and publish this to be my last will and Testament in manner and form following- Item I - I give and bequeath to my son John F. Richard his heirs and assigns a certain tract of parcel of land, situated in the County of Franklin and State of North Carolina, adjoining the lands of John Chamblee and others and on the water of Norris Creek, containing one hundred acres and designated on a Plot of my land as Lot No 1. Item II - I give and bequeath to my son Burrell Richards, his heirs and assigns, a certain tract as parcel of land, situated in the County and State aforesaid and on both sides of Norris Creek adjoining the lands of A. J. P. Harris and others and containing One hundred and fifty acres and designated as Lot 2. Item III - I give and bequeath to my son Sidney Richards his heirs and assigns a certain tract is parcel of land situated in the County and state aforesaid and in the North side of Norris Creek, adjoining its lands of A. J. P. Harris and others and containing one hundred and fifty acres, designated as lot No 3. Item IV - I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah A. King wife of John King, during the term of her life and item to her children a certain tract or parcel of land situated in the County of Franklin and State aforesaid and in the South side of Norris Creek adjoining the lands belonging to the heirs of Jeff Richards and others and containing one hundred acres designated on the Plot of my land as Lot No. 4. Item V- I give and bequeath to my son William Robert Richards, his heirs and assigns, my homestead tract of land situated in the County and State aforesaid and bounded by the lands belonging to the heirs of Jeff Richards and others, and containing two hundred and sixties acres, One acre of which I have laid off for a Grave yard and is kindly excepted and reassigned. Item VI - I give and bequeath to my daughter Lucy Barham wife of George Barham during her life time and items to her children, a certain tract or parcel of land situated in the County and State aforesaid, and lying South of a line running S89 degrees E from a Post oak, corner of the Jeff Richards land and Kearney and Curly tract and Nancy Perry tract and containing about one hundred and sixty acres be the same more or less and designated as lot No 6. Item VII - I give and bequeath to my daughter Ruthy Ellen Stroud wife of Montgomery Stroud during the term of her life and at her death to her children, a certain tract or parcel of land, situated in the County and State aforesaid, it being the tract of land purchased of Moses J. Nevill and wife and containing one hundred and twenty acres , also about twenty two acres it being the western half of the Nancy Perry tract. Item VIII - I give and bequeath to my Grandson Wesly Pully during his life and if he has no children to revert back to the Richards family, a tract of land situated in the County of Franklin and State aforesaid, containing forty nine and one half acres, and lying South of the Nancy Perry tract, and designated on the Plot of my land as Lot No 7. Item IX - I give and bequeath to my son William Robert Richards his heirs and assigns my Family Bible. Item X - I give and bequeath to my four Sons, Sidney Richards, George Richards, John Richards and Burrell Richards, their heirs and assigns, my Saw Mills tract of land situated in the Counties of Franklin and Wake, and containing about one hundred acres more or less, one fifth interest in the Saw Mill and all the fixtures belonging thereunto being reserved and hereafter disposed of: Item XI - I give and bequeath to my son William Robert Richards, his heirs and assigns one fifth interest in my Saw Mill and all the fixtures thereunto belonging. Item XII - I give and bequeath to my daughter Cornelia Barham wife of John Barham, one bushel of corn to her and her heirs forever. Item XIII - It is my will and desire that my beloved wife Elizabeth Richards shall have one tenth of all the proceeds of crops sold and raised on all the lands given to my children, she to take one tenth in kind as long as she remains a widow. Item XIV - I give and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Richards one bed and furniture, 1/2 doz. chairs, cooking utensils and table ware, and one milk cow. Item XVI - It is my will and desire that all my property not disposed of shall be sold and after my debts are all paid, the remaining shall be equally divided between my sons Sidney, George, John, Burrell, and William Robert Richards and my daughters Sarah A. King, Lucy Barham, and Ruthy Ellen Stroud and their heirs and assigns Item XVII - I hereby nominate and appoint my sons Sidney Richards and William Robert Richards Executors to this my last will and Testament- In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal this Eleventh day of December AD 1874.
