D. Floyd This one is between Cherryville, NC and Dallas, NC. From Cherryville take NC 279 from NC 150 at the old Carolina Frieght building and go about 4.4 miles and turn left, north, on Whitesides Rd. There is a sign about the cemetery at this intersection. After you make the turn go about 2 miles and find anothe sign and the cemetery on your left. I recorded this cemetery July 10, 1998. At the gate is a bronze plate with the following inscription. In memory of our pioneer ancestors buried in this cemetery, Christian Mauney 1741-1815, Peter Mauney 1790-1840. A few feet south of this site stood Beaver Dam Church. One of the oldest Lutheran churches in North Carolina. In 1858 the congregation moved to the present St Marks Lutheran Church.
