THE PINHOOK CEMETERY

Gaston County, NC

Location: From I-85 take the Lowell Cramerton Exit. Take North Main St. 1.3 
mile to Lineberger St. turn right this road ends up at the Lowell Elementry 
school. Cemetery is behind the school in the woods about 1/4 mile approx. 250 
graves on 1 and 1/2 acre many marked with rocks and pipes with alot of 
headstone bases but no headstone. The Pinhook is one of the oldest cemeteries 
in Gaston Co . It is said that it contains the remains of towns people 
confederate and union soldiers as well as slaves. This cemetery is in very bad 
shape alot of deep graves and it is very hard to get to.
