Nov. 12, 18 or 26, 1836 in Lincoln Co. N.C. (later was Gaston Co.) In 1854 Geo. Martin was living in Dallas, Gaston Co. N.C. aged more than 70 and was soldier's ony surviving child. The other children who survived their father, Capt. Samuel Martin, were Wm. Martin, Jane HANNA, Margaret KERR, Thomas and Joseph Martin. Name of Samuel Martin'w wife not given. Son George Martin's wife was Martha who was more than 69 years old in 1857 and resided in Gaston Co. N.C. In 1854 one James M. HANNA, resident of Gaston Co. N.C. stated he had known the family of Capt. Samuel Martin for 30 years and was present at his death which he recorded in his family Bible. One W. D. HANNA was in Gaston Co. N.C. in 1854 -relation to family not stated. One John Taylor was a relative of Capt. Samuel Martin and their births were only a month a part-relation not given. Capt. Samuel Martin was in Dallas, Gaston Co. N.C. in 1856 and Wm. Martin another grandson was born and raised in MECKLENBURG Co. N.C. In 1856 he (Wm.
