HAZELL B. HARRISON
GASTONIA - Hazell Buchanan Harrison, 78, of Carlton Drive, died 
Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002 in Gaston Memorial Hospital. A native of 
Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Finn and Hattie 
Fisher Buchanan, and wife of the late Garfield Harrison. She was 
also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Riddle, and a brother, 
Charlie Buchanan. She was retired from Ti-Caro Textiles in Gastonia.
Survivors include four daughters, Sheila Slater, Jean Green, Kay 
Ashton and Micky Kaylor, all of Gastonia; three sisters, Betty 
Goble of Gastonia, Margie Sparks of Spruce Pine and Ruby Baxter 
of Michigan; one brother, Lewis Buchanan of Oregon; eight 
grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Grindstaff 
Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Dwayne 
Gibson and Mike Criswell officiated. Burial was in Berry Chapel 
Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends one hour 
prior to the services at the funeral home.
