Mellon and Miss Etta Craig of Gastonia Today Mr. Ed. Mellon of Charlotte and Miss Etta Craig of Gastonia were married this afternoon. The ceremony was performed at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. John H. Craig in Gastonia by Rev. Mr. Hickson assisted by Rev. Mr. McIlwaine. The newly wedded will arrive in Charlotte on the 5:40 train this afternoon. The marriage was one of unusual interest and was attended by a number of the groom's Charlotte friends. Among those who accompanied the groom to the marriage feast were: Messrs. H.G. Springs, W. Kaufman, S. Landecker, Ed. Grier, Dick Mason, W.H. Justice, Sol. Cohen, Price Elias, Lox Long, Chas. Brem, W.P. Pegram, Jno. W. Wadsworth, Robt. Haydn and Dr. J.P. McCombs. Mr. Mellon has long been identified with the business interests of Charlotte and is a young man of exceeding popularity. The bride is one of Gaston's favorite young ladies. Both parties to the union have hosts of friends in this section, whose good wishes are cordially extended them.
