Friday, July 7, 1809   Edenton Gazette July 7, 1809
   -- On Monday last as MRS. HARRIS, formerly of Gates County, and MRS. 
BENBURY and child, were riding on the road leading to the Sound side, and 
being near Garrett's bridge, the horse took fright and ran off in full speed; 
when MRS. BENBURY with her child, immediately jumped out and was saved, 
herself and infant, unhurt. MRS. HARRIS was soon after thrown out, and 
instantly killed.
