ELISHA ISAAC BENTON

   WINDSOR – A funeral service for Elisha Isaac Benton, 78, was held at 2 p.m. 
Thursday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Revs. Steve Weed and 
Allan Johnson. Burial was in Windsor Cemetery.

   Benton died Monday in a hospital.

   A native of Gates County, N.C., he was the husband of Sadie Darden Benton. He 
was retired from the National Screen Co. as a guard.

   Other survivors include three daughters, Alice Faye Britt of Wakefield and 
Patricia Ann Ellis and Glenda Gail Smith, both of Suffolk; four sons, Isaac 
Milton Benton of Whaleyville, William Russell Benton and Marvin Earl Benton, 
both of Windsor, and David Edwin Benton of Fort Knox, Ky.; and six 
grandchildren.
