Her husband, W. Fletcher Gray, preceded her in death some years ago. Mrs. Gray had lived in Gatesville, N.C., a number of years, and was a member of the Sandy Cross Baptist Church, Gates County, N.C. She is survived by five sons, G.W. Gray of Suffolk, Decatur Gray of Raleigh, N.C., Claude Gray of Charlotte, N.C., M.L. Gray of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Clyde W. Gray of Portsmouth; two daughters, Mrs. Sullivan Warren of Portsmouth and Miss Ruby M. Gray of Raleigh N.C.; two brothers, Claude Bell and W.S. Bell, both of Portsmouth; the three sisters, Mrs. Nina Powell of Woodland, N.C., Mrs. Kate Jenkins of Lewiston, N.C., and Mrs. Allie Daughtrey of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. Funeral services were conducted from the Purviance Funeral Home in Boykins on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with Rev. N.B. Habel, pastor of the Boykins Baptist Church, officiating. Two anthems “Haven of Rest” and the “Old Rugged Cross,” were sung by the combined choirs of the town, accompanied by Mrs. E.E. Pittman of Courtland. Interment was in Beechwood Cemetery.
