MABEL ANNIE WARD BRINKLEY

  Mrs. Mabel Ward Brinkley, 68, of 509 Greenway Rd. died Friday at 9:16 a.m. 
in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital.
  She was daughter of the late Benjamin Edward and Mrs. Annie Byrum Ward.
  She was a native of Gates County, N.C. and the widow of Lewis Vann 
Brinkley.
  Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Daniel Eure and Mrs. Jordan Lynn 
of Suffolk, Mrs. Bill Faulkner of Portsmouth, Mrs. Monty Dixon of Ahoskie, 
N.C., Mrs. Walter Eure of Gatesville, N.C., Mrs. James Johnson of Floyd, 
Va., and Mrs. Gene Earley of Weldon, N.C.; two sons, Abraham Ward Brinkley 
of Gates, N.C., and Thomas P. Brinkley of Suffolk; four sisters, Mrs. 
Clarine King of Suffolk, Mrs. Lucy Small of Chesapeake, Mrs. Jean Blick of 
Norfolk, and Mrs. Margie Romanchuck of Corapeake, N.C.; a brother, George E. 
Ward of Corapeake; 22 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
  A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Cypress Chapel Christian Church 
by the Rev. Allen R. Blakney and Dr. R.E. Brittle. Brinkley Obit insert

  Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from I.O. 
Hill & Co. Funeral Home to the church at 1 p.m. Sunday. The family will be 
at her home.
