Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church in Gates County by the Rev. W.V. Brown, pastor. Burial will be in Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be taken from the church Sunday at 12:30 p.m. to lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Brinkley was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class of the church. He was the husband of Mrs. Earlie Thomas Byrum Brinkley of the home and son of Jethro Brinkley and Mrs. Elsie Riddick Brinkley of Corapeake. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Haywood Fowler of Whaleyville and Mrs. Dan Boyce of Suffolk; four sons, Bennie Marcelle Brinkley of Norfolk; T.J. Brinkley of Suffolk and James Earl Brinkley and Johnny Brinkley of Sunbury; four brothers, Otis Brinkley of Shawboro, Edward Brinkley and Willis Brinkley of Corapeake and Josiah Brinkley of Nansemond County; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
