Charlotte G. Carden, 93, died on January 26, 2021. She was the daughter of the 
late Mabel Joyner and John Waverly Goodrich. She was predeceased by her husband 
James Harvey Carden.

Charlotte was a sweet wonderful mother that was loved by everyone that met her. 
She owned and operated E&S General Merchandise in Grandy for over 25 years.

She is survived by her daughter Charlotte Ann Clary; sons James Michael Carden, 
Sr., and Carl Erwin Carden (Janet); grandchildren James Michael Carden, Jr., 
Kristie C. Harrison (Daniel), Jessica C. Elkins (WT), Crystal Danielle Clary and 
Tony Townsend (Lisa); many great grandchildren; brother Herbert M. Goodrich 
(Yvonne); sister Mabel G. Johnson; stepbrother Tom Butler; half-brother Ronnie 
A. Goodrich; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 2 PM at Rocky 
Hock United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1929 White Marsh Road, Wakefield, VA 
23888. Charlotte will be available for viewing on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 
9 to 5 PM and on Monday February 1, 2021 from 9 AM to 12 noon. R.W. Baker & Co. 
Funeral Home and Crematory, 11414 General Mahone Hwy, Wakefield VA 23888 is
