JAMES ROSCOE GREEN

   James Roscoe Green, aged 48, son of the late Charles G. and Mrs. Martha 
Williams Green, of Gates County, died Monday night at his home near Franklin 
after an illness of three years. He was the husband of Mrs. Sallie Eure Green, 
and besides his wife, is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Etta Mae Williams, of 
Gates County; Mrs. Lillian Burgess of Murfreesboro, and Mrs. Emma Vann of 
Holland; seven sons, Clarence Green of Murfreesboro, Ernest, Thurman, Floyd, 
Milton, James, Jr. and Linwood Green, all of Franklin; two brothers, E.L. Green 
of Norfolk and S.L. Green of Roanoke Rapids, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Pope of 
Como.

   Services were conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at Buckhorn Baptist 
Church, Como, N.C. by the Rev. Mr. Lanier of Winton, N.C.  Burial followed in 
the church cemetery at Buckhorn.
