THOMAS JEFFERSON HARRELL

   Funeral services for Thomas Jefferson Harrell, aged 80, who died at his 
home in Branchville Friday night after an illness of many months, were 
conducted Sunday afternoon at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, with Rev. Frank B. 
Handley officiating, assisted by Rev. R.L. Haga of the Methodist Church.

   Mr. Harrell was a native of Gates County, N.C. and made his home in North 
Carolina for several years, later moving to Virginia where he spent the 
remainder of his life.

   He was married four times. First to Miss Ata Martin of Pendleton and to 
this union three children were born, Mrs. W.B. Goodwyn and N.G. Harrell of 
Branchville and Gilbert Harrell of Providence, R.I.  His second marriage was 
to Mrs. Mollie Peebles of Jackson and to them was born one son, Goodwyn 
Harrell, who died very young. The third time he married Mrs. Virginia Greene 
Barham of Capron and the fourth marriage was to Mrs. Callie Boothe of 
Branchville who survives him.

   The casket was covered with a pall of Easter Lilies and pink rosebuds, this 
and other many and beautiful floral tributes showed the esteem in which he was 
held by his many friends.

   He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. W.B. Goodwyn and two sons, 
N.G. Harrell of Branchville, and Gilbert Harrell of Providence, R.I.

   Active pallbearers were: L.O. Tyler, S.T. Boothe, L.A. Wood, A.T. Beale, 
B.R. Millikin, and R.D. Vick and the honorary bearers were: A.B. Harris, W.T. 
Grizzard, Paul Thomas Johnson, W.R. Sykes, W.S. DeLoatche and E.T. Story.
