SUSANNA MARGARET HURDLE HAYES

   Mrs. Susanna Margaret Hayes, 94, a well-known former resident of the 
Gatesville community in North Carolina, died Thursday morning, July 15, after a 
long illness in the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. E.R. Baker, on Clay Street. 
The deceased had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Baker for the past several 
years.

   She was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Susan Hurdle and the wife of the 
late Henry A. Hayes of Gatesville. For many years she served in the Zion 
Methodist Church, near Gatesville, of which she was a member.

   Funeral services for Mrs. Hayes were conducted Friday afternoon at 2:30 
o’clock at Zion Methodist Church by the pastor, Rev. Thomas A. Collins, followed 
by interment in the family cemetery near Gatesville.
