CLIFFORD SPEIGHT MORRIS

SUFFOLK – Clifford Speight (Joe) Morris, 86, died Jan. 9, 2006, at his home. Joe 
was born Nov. 27, 1919, in Sunbury, N.C to the late Dinah Rea and John Osborne 
Morris. He was a member of First Baptist Church for 55 years and a member of the 
Good News Sunday School Class.

Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ernestine Smith Morris; daughter, Anna 
Morris Cross of Portsmouth; son, John Larry Morris and wife Barbara of Suffolk; 
granddaughters, Suzanne M. Pruitt and husband Todd, Leigh Anne Parks and husband 
Douglas, Dinah Olivia Morris and Elizabeth Ashley Wall; and two great-grandsons, 
Dylan and Riley Prutt.

A funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral 
Home & Crematory by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson with burial in Cedar Hill 
Cemetery. The family will receive friends today at the funeral home from 7 to 8 
p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. 
Box 1515, Suffolk, VA 23439.
