Smith, near Holland. A native of Gates County, N.C., he was a night watchman of Benthall Machine Co., Suffolk. He was a member of Somerton Methodist Church. A son of the late William Lonnie and Mrs. Dennie Howell Parker of Gates County, he was the widower of Mrs. Lena Cowan Parker. Besides his sister, with whom he made his home, surviving are two other sisters, Miss Ella Jane Parker of Portsmouth and Mrs. W.H. Harrison of Norfolk; two brothers Willie L. Parker and John L. Parker of Portsmouth. A funeral service will be held in I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home, Suffolk, Thursday at 2 p.m. by Dr. R.E. Brittle of Bethlehem Christian Church and the Rev. Carl E. Coslett of Somerton Methodist Church. Burial will be in Eure Christian Church Cemetery of Gates County.
