WILLIAM H. PITTMAN

GATES, N.C. - William Henry Pittman, 91, died at 4:25 p.m. Sunday in Roanoke 
Valley Nursing Home, Rich Square. 
  A native of Gates County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Emily Virginia 
March Pittman and a son of Thomas T. and Mrs. Sallie Duck Pittman. 
  He was a retired farmer and formerly managed Gates Supply Go.  He was a 
member of Kittrell's Methodist Church.  He was a graduate of Reynoldson 
Academy in Gates County. 
  Surviving are three sons, W.G. Pittman of Rockingham, T. Everett Pittman and 
Vance P. Pittman of Gates; three daughters, Mrs. J.C. Ellis of Churchland, 
Portsmouth, Miss Emily V. Pittman of Norfolk and Mrs. Myra Dodd of Suffolk; a 
sister, Mrs. J.R. Freeman Sr. of Gates; a brother, J.C. Pittman of Sanford; five 
grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 
  A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Reynoldson Baptist 
Church Cemetery by the Rev. Billy Presley, pastor, and the Rev. Donald Stewart 
of DeBaun Baptist Church, Chesapeake.  Rountree & Hofler Funeral Home, 
Gatesville, has charge.
