Winslow, where she had been residing with her daughter, Miss Lillian Rountree. Mrs. Rountree was an active member of the First Baptist Church for 41 years and before that time had held membership in Great Fork Baptist Church, of the county. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Lilian Rountree; a son, C.J. Rountree of Suffolk; a brother, J.R. Howell of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Miss Alma Rountree, Miss Jessie Rountree, Mrs. J.H. Wesson, Miles Rountree and R.R. Harrell, Jr., of Suffolk; Mrs. T.C. White of Ocean View, and Mrs. G.H. Allen of Philadelphia and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted in Suffolk Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the First Baptist Church by the Rev. H.J. Goodwin, D.D., pastor, assisted by the Rev. W.W. Staley, the Rev. H.S. Hardcastle of Suffolk, and the Rev. Sparks W. Welton of Norfolk. Active pallbearers were: Marshall, W.T., P.T., John, Harvey, Frank and Robert Howell, Edgar Rawls and Stanley Holland.
