B. ORLANDO WHITEHURST

   Funeral services for B. Orlando Whitehurst, aged 54, who died suddenly at his 
home in Gates, N.C., on Tuesday morning, May 6, were conducted yesterday 
(Thursday) afternoon at 3:30 o’clock from Savage’s Methodist Church. Rev. W.C. 
Guthrie, pastor of the church, officiated.

   Mr. Whitehurst is survived by his wife, Mrs. Addie Barnhill Whitehurst; three 
sons, Jesse and Willie Whitehurst of Portsmouth and Melvin Whitehurst of Gates, 
N.C. ; two daughters, Mrs. Garland Vaughan of Windsor, Va.; and Mrs. Stewart 
Whitehead of Franklin; two brothers, J.B. and W.J. Whitehurst of Gates; and 
three sisters, Mrs. J.H. Ellen of Portsmouth, Mrs. Willard Taylor of Gates, and 
Mrs. O.L. Griggs of Suffolk.
