Sealed with our seals, and dated this Thirtieth Day of June One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety-Eight The Condition of this Obligation is such, that whereas the above bound Jacob Freeman hath made Application for a License for a Marriage to be celebrated between him and Sarah Pipkin of the County of Gates. Now in Case it shall not appear thereafter that there is any lawful Cause to obstruct the said Marriage, then this Obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full Force and Virtue. Signed, Sealed and Delivered Isaac Pipkin Jr. {Seal} in the Presence of Law Baker Source: NC Archives & History Gates County Marriage Bonds Note: Isaac Pipkin & Charity Goodman's 8th child Sarah Pipkin (1781-?) was the wife of Jacob Freeman (ca 1771-1810) of Herford Co., NC. Freeman died relatively young and he and Sarah only had 3 children that I have found. 1) Isaac Pipkin Freeman b. 1799 2) John Freeman ca. 1802 3) Celia Freeman b. 11 Sep 1806 Celia Freeman married 1st Thomas Graves Nixon (26 Sep 1821) who was killed in Carroll Co., MS in 1834. I have records of her remarriage from Mississippi. (5 children) She then married Rev. John D. Neal. (3 more Children) I have records of Rev. Neal gaining the children. They moved to Texas in 1850 and there is documentation of them there.
