I Thomas Parker, of Gates County and the State of North Carolina, being of a sound and perfect mind and memory, (blessed be God) do this sixteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and twenty-five make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say, Item; - I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Parker, one negro girl named Dinah, one bed and furniture and one Pine Chest. Item: - I give unto my Grandson, Jordon Parker one negro man, named Sam and all my Coopers Tools of every description. Item: - I give and bequeath to my Grandson Alfred Parker, one feather bed and furniture, one cow and calf, one sow and pigs and Four Hundred Dollars in money. Item: - I lend my Daughter, Ruth Brinkley the Houses and land whereon she lives, or as much land together with the plantation on which she lives as will make One Hundred Acres, during her natural life. I also give her One Hundred Dollars in money. Item: - I give my daughter Elizabeth Minor the interest of Six Hundred Dollars during her natural life. My desire is that my friend John G. Gordon, whom I shall appoint one of my executors, shall keep above named sum of Six Hundred Dollars in his possession and pay the interest of the same to my daughter Elizabeth in that way and manner that he thinks best for her and after her death to divide the principal equally between all her Children. Item: - I give and bequeath the land above named to my Daughter Ruth Brinkley, there being One Hundred Acres, to be equally divided between all the Children after her death to them and their heirs forever. Item: - I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Margaret Ann Ballard, one bed and furniture. Item: - I give and bequeath all my lands not before given away, to be equally divided between my Daughters Ann Ballard, Mary Odom, Margaret Parker, Sarah Brinkley and my Grand children Margaret Ann Ballard, Jordon Parker and Alfred Parker. My will and desire is that the lines to make the divisions of my land between my above named Children and Grand children should run North and South and that my daughter Margaret Parker should have the lot where my dwelling house stands and my Grandson Jordon Parker to have his lot on the East side of joining Margaret Parker's and Alfred Parker to have his lot on the west side of joining Margaret Parker's to them and their heirs forever. Lastly: The residue of my property of every description not given away I wish to be sold and the balance after paying my just debts and the legacies before given away to be equally divided between all my children. I nominate and appoint my worthy friends Dempsey Knight, James Morgan and John G. Gordon Executors of this, my last will and testament.
