Gates County, NC - Will of Joseph Parker, 1820 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will of Joseph Parker In the Name of God Amen. I Joseph Parker Being of sound and Perfect Mind and memory Blessed Be God Do This the Twenty Fifth Day of February in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty make and Publish this my Last Will and Testament in Manner following. First it is my wish and will that my Beloved Son David Parker Should have a surtain negro Boy By the name of Paladere also a negro woman By the name of Penney also a negro Boy By the name of Adder also a negro Boy By the name of Dave an also a negro Girl By the name of Hannah it is my will and wish that my son David Parker shall have fifteen Hundred Dollars In Cash which is in notes and Bonds for him two Beds and David Parker shall have my young Horse its my wish and will that my son David Parker should have the gun that I Bought for him at Chs. Townsens all of this to him his heirs and assigns forever. It is my wish and will that my Beloved wife Rodah Parker should have a surtain negro fellow By the name of Jacob and a negro woman by the name of Prise and a woman by the name of Sealey one riding Gigg & Harness and my old Horse and one Bed and furniture to her and her heirs assigns forever. and it is also my will and wish that my Beloved wife Rodah Parker should have the use of all of my Lands and Plantation utensils House Hould and Kitchen furniture Besides what I have already given to David Parker her natural life, and it is my wish that my beloved wife Rodah Parker should have the use of all of my stock consisting of cattle Hoggs and sheep untill my son David Parker arrives to Twenty one years of age then and in that case it is my wish and will that my stock Be Equally devided Between my Beloved wife Rodah Parker and my two sons David Parker and James Parker, and it is my wish and will that my Beloved son James Parker should have all of my lands and Plantation and Plantation utensils House Hold and Kitchen furniture after the Death of my beloved wife Rodah Parker it is also my wish and will that my son James Parker should have a surtain negro Fellow by the name of Jack and a negro woman by the name of Patience and a negro Boy by the name of Willis and a negro girl By the name of Luiser and two Feather beds and furniture and one gun to him his heirs and assigns forever. It is my wish and will that my Beloved wife Rodah Parker should keep the three small negroes that I gave to my son David Parker by the names of Adder, Dave and Hannah untill David Parker should arrive to the age of Twenty one years, and also my wish that she should Keep the Horse that I gave him until he becomes of age, and it is also my wish and will that my beloved wife Rodah Parker should Keep all the Property of Every description that I gave to my Beloved son James Parker until he should arrive to the age of Twenty one years, And i hereby make and Ordain my beloved wife Rodah Parker and my son David Parker Executrix & Executor of this my Last will and Testament.
