I Rosanna Parker of Gates County & State of North Carolina being weake in body but of a sound & wel disposing mind & memory do make constitute and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following first and principally I recommend my soul to God that gave it hoping and trusting to receive a full and free pardon for all my sins through the merits of my dear redeemer Jesus Christ and for preventing disputes I do dispose of my worldly goods in the following manner Item I give and bequeath unto my son JAMES PARKER my two negroes named SAM and BEN also four head of cattle and one feather bed and furniture and one fine chest to him my said son JAMES & to his hairs and assigns forever Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter SARAH BRINKLEY one gilt trunk and all my wearing appearil to her and her heirs & assigns forever. Item I give and bequeth unto my grandson SIMION PARKER one feather bed and furniture and one iron bound chest to him and his hairs and assigns forever. Item I give unto my son in law JOHN WEST the sum of five shillings cast it being in full for his part shear and proportion of my estate to him snd to his hairs and assigns forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my son JAMES PARKER all the rest and residue of my estate of every nature or kind whatsoever to him and to his hairs and assigns forever. Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my son JAMES PARKER to be my executer to this my last will and testament desiring him to fulfill the same in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of October 1793 Signed sealed by the Testator declared to be her last will and testament in the presence of JETHRO SUMNER (Jurat) JOHN SAUNDERS ROSANNA (her x mark) PARKER (seal) November Court 1800: Exhibited & proved by JETHRO SUMNER.
