INDENTURE – HENRY HAM TO WILLIAM ALDREDGE - 1796

This Indenture made the 14th day of October in the years of our Lord one 
Thousand seven Hundred and Ninety six Between Henry Ham of the County of ____ 
and State State of South Carolina of the one part and William Aldredge of the 
County of of Glasgow and State of N Carolina Witnesseth that The said Henry 
Ham for an inconsideration of the sum of Ten pounds speice to him in hand By 
this William Aldredge at or before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof hath 
Bargained and sold and by these presents doth Bargin and sell unto the said 
William Aldredge his Heirs and assigns for Ever one track or parsel of Land 
situate in the County of Glasgow on the East side of the North Prong of Bear 
Creek Containing Twenty seven Acres. To Wit  Beginning at a Gum in the Creek 
and in William Hams Senr’s line then with the same N. 14 E 60 poles to the 
Corner said Creek then with or near his line S East & 3 poles to a pine on a 
branch of the Reedy  Branch then down the Various Coses of the of the sd 
Branch 136 pole to the mouth of the Branch where it Enters in to the Creek 
thence up the Various Coses of the Creek to the first station Being a patent 
Granted to the sd Ham Bearing Date 11 February 1784 to have and to hold the 
aforesaid tract of land together with all woods water Heredetiments and 
appertainces to the said William Aldredge his Heirs and assigns for Ever and 
for no other use intent or purpose and the Henry Ham for himself his Heirs, 
Executors administrators and assigns doth Covenant and agree to and with the 
William Aldredge his Heirs and assigns that the said tract or parsel of land 
with all and singular the appertainces there unto Belonging he will ?? from 
all Lawful claimes or Demands of any Person or persons whatsoever and the said 
Henry Ham willl warrant and for Ever Defend unto the Said William Aldredge his 
heirs and assigns for Ever in Testimony  I the said Henry Hamm have hereunto 
set my Hand and fixed my seal the day and year first written.
