North Carolina" Last Address: Calderwood, Blount County, Tennessee Filed for pension March 4, 1902 and said he was born December 7, 1876 Married: Minnie DITMORE on December 11, 1906, in Blount County, Tennessee Children: Blanche ROSE (Mrs. Gordie LYNN)April 29 1908 Floyd Theodore ROSE born May 1, 1911 Divorced: From Minnie DITMORE on June 5, 1912 Pension: $6 per month from March 4, 1902; $8 from September 5, 1906 and $10 from March 18, 1908. Found Dead: Quiller E. ROSE, known as Eagle ROSE was found dead in Yellow Creek on May 14, 1926. Postmaster: The postmaster at Calderwood returned his pension check, stating that he had been reported missing since April 2 1926. (presumed dead from that date) Not Guilty: Six men; John GLADDEN, his son, Little Dan (or John), Oliver BAKER, Starling SAWYERS, Charlie PETERSON, Jack PRINCE, of Welch Cove, Fontana; were tried for the murder of Eagle ROSE but a Jury in Superior Court of Graham County, found all defendants not guilty. Family: Eagle ROSE was the son of J. M. ROSE and wife, Mary JENKINS ROSE. He had brothers named Thee and Pitt ROSE. Both were killed before Eagle ROSE was murdered. J. Thee ROSE was killed at Meadow, Blount County, Tennessee on the L&N RR April 12 1909 by Dick THOMAS, and George W. ROSE, known as Pitt ROSE was killed at the Southern Depot in Calderwood on March 3, 1923 by Charlie DITMORE.
