NORTH CAROLINA              COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS
Granville County                 August Term, 1862

JAMES W. LYON and others
      vs.                          PETITION TO DIVIDE LANDS
JOHN M. LYON and others 

   It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that JOHN M. LYON, one of the 
defendants in this cause resides beyond the limits of the State; it is 
therefore, on motion ordered by the Court, that advertisement be made for six 
successive weeks in the Raleigh Standard notifying said defendant of the 
filing of this petition and that unless he appears at the next Term of this 
Court and answer the petition, the same will be taken pro confesso, and heard 
ex parte as to him. 
Witness, AUGUSTINE LANDIS, Clerk of said Court, at office in Oxford, the first 
Monday of August 1862.
