granting security on $500.00 bond.

--Feb. 1842:  Blair Burnell proved deed from Joel Merritt to Benj. Sims for 5 acres.

--Aug. 1843:  Blain Burnett proved deed from John W. Merritt to Joel Woodlief.

--Nov. 1843:  James Hunt v. Joel Merritt and others.

--Feb. 1851:  W.V. Paschall vs. Joel Merritt.  Plaintiff had leave to withdraw papers.

--May 1851:  State v. Henry Merritt & John Higgs.  Defendants fined 6 pence.
