Allen and James Allen, Executors fo Zachariah Allen, Decd sold to Mary H. Allen, Sarah Allen, Nancy Allen and Terecy M. Thomerson 3 negroes named Ferrel, Charity, and Elizabeth for $296. The witnesses were Paul Jenkins and William D. Allen, with Wm. D. Allen proving deed in May Court, 1854. Deed Book 18, page 67? 31 Jan 1854 Joseph B. Allen sold to James Allen for $1150.25 a negro boy named Lewis with William D. Allen witnessing the Deed. This was proven May Court 1854. Granville County Deed Book 18, page 353? Thomas B. Allen, surviving Executor of Zachariah Allen decd sold at public auction the homeplace, carrying out the will of Zachariah Allen, who willed his land be sold after the death of his wife Rebecca Allen, which auction was held January 26th, 1854, with William Allen buying ? acre including the burial ground of the said Zachariah Allen, the remainder of the 301 ? acre tract to Mary H. Allen, Sarah Allen, Nancy Allen and Tereca M. Thomerson. The land was in Granville County on the waters of Fort Creek, adjoining the lands of Darrell Mayfield, Dr. W. Byrum and others. The witnesses to the deed were S. H. Cannady and Jno. N. Gill. (James Allen, the other Executor, was dead.)
