Granville County Deed Book O, Page 467

THIS INDENTURE made this Fifteenth day of March in the Year of our Lord One 
Thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty Six Between William Burford of the County of 
Wilkes and of the State of Georgia of the one part & Wiat Wilkerson of the 
County of Granville & State of North Carolina Witnesseth that the sd William 
Burford for & in consideration of the sum of One Hundred and Fifty pounds to 
him in hand paid by the sd Wiat Wilkerson the Rect of which he doth hereby 
acknowledge hath given granted bargained & sold & by these presents doth give 
grant bargain & sell unto the said Wiatt Wilkerson a certain tract of land 
being & lying in Granville County on the North side of Neuse River Beginning 
at a white Oak Just below the Mouth of the Nap of reeds (?) Creek Runing down 
the River as it Meanders in a right line One Hundred & thirty eight poles to a 
Sasyfrass (?) thence W 60 Et two hundred and forty two poles to a black Oak 
thence No 33 Wt Two Hundred & thirty four poles to a white Oak thence South 57 
Wt Two Hundred & thirty poles to the Beginning Containing in the Whole Two 
Hundred & thirty Two acres being the same more or less & the sd William 
Burford doth warrant to & with the sd Wiat Wilkerson peaceably & quietly to 
hold & enjoy the sd. tract of land with the appurtenances without molestation 
eviction or Interruption of him the sd William Burford his heirs or assigns or 
any other person claiming under him or them In Witness whereof the sd William 
Burford by the hand of Solomon Burford as an attorney hath hereunto set his 
hand & Seal the day & Year above Written ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
