William Champion & Sarah his wife for & in consideration of Twenty pounds Current Money in hand paid to him the sd. William Champion before the ensealing hereof the amt whereof the sd. William Champion & Sarah his wife do hereby acknowledge & themselves therewith fully contented & satisfied & paid have granted bargained sold & confirmed & by these presents do fully & absolutely grant bargain sell & confirm unto Thomas Banks his heirs & assigns forever part of a certain _____ or tract of land situated lying & being joining On the South side of Tar River & on both sides of the ____ branch in the County of Granville & joining with west side of sd. Thomas Banks land & containing Two Hundred & forty acres of land be same more or less Beginning at a Birch on the River Bank below Quicksand Creek thence turning South three Hundred & twenty poles to a pine thence west one hundred & four poles to a hickory thence south eighty five poles to a red oak thence west one hundred & thirty two poles to ___ Mayfields line to a pine thence along _____ line North to the River about a Hundred & forty poles to _______ thence _______ to the first Station brush Beginning To have & to hold the sd. granted premises with appurtenances and privileges thereto belonging unto the sd. Thomas Banks his heirs & assigns forever to his & their proper use & liking forever & the sd. William Champion for me my heirs Exec & admn do covenant & promise to & with the sd. Thos Banks his heirs & assigns the before the Insealing hereof that the sd. William Champion am the sole & law full owner of the above said premises & am lawfully possessed of the same in my own proper right as a good & absolute state of indebtedness in fee simple & have in myself good right to full ____ to grant bargain sell & confirm the aforsd. John Sutton & Mary his wife for & in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred & Ninety pounds law full money in hand paid to us by him the sd. William Champion have bargained sold & confirm unto him the sd. William Champion a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Granville & on the west side of Fort Creek Beginning at a Red & white Oak in Valentine Mayfield line on the bank of said Creek thence turning North along the sd. Mayfield line Two Hundred & Twenty poles to a Red Oak thence along the sd. Mayfield & Thos Banks line west one Hundred & Eighty four poles to a black Jack thence South One Hundred & Twenty poles to a branch thence down the branch Eighty four poles to Fort Creek thence down the sd. Creek to the first Beginning being by estimation Two Hundred & thirty acres of land being the same more or less whatsoever Together with all Woods Waters Mines Minerals Hereditaments appurtenances to the sd. land belonging or appertaining To have & to hold to the sd. William Champion his heirs & assigns forever yielding & paying the Quittance or taxes by law of the same Yearly or otherwise as the general assembly from time to time may direct provided always that the sd. William Champion shall cause this conveyance or grant to be recorded & registered in the Registers office of the sd. Wm. Champion for & in consideration of the sum of Sixty Nine pounds currant money of Virg To him in hand paid the rect of which he doth hereby acknowledge hath bargained sold released & confirmed & by these presents doth bargain sell release & confirm to the sd. Alexander Carter his heirs & assigns forever that tract or parcel of land whereunto he the sd. Wm. Champion now lives in the County aforesaid containing by estimation Two Hundred & thirty five acres be the same more or less bounded as followeth Beginning at a Red Oak still on his & Baker's line W 4 poles to a black Jack thence South 120 poles to a branch thence down it poles to Fort Creek thence down the creek to the Beginning together with all woods trees houses orchards ways paths waters & all & singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging To have & to hold to the sd. Alex. Carter his heirs & assigns forever & the sd. Wm. Champion for himself & his heirs doth hereby covenant & grant to warrant & defend the sd. land & premises to the sd. Alex.
