THIS INDENTURE Made this 3rd day of Feby One Thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty 
one Between Daniel Grant of Granville County & state of No Carolina of the one 
part & Hazlewood Wilkerson of the Same county & state of the other part 
Witnesseth that the sd Daniel Grant as well for & in Consideration of the love 
& affection which he hath & beareth unto the sd. Hazlewood Wilkerson his son 
in Law as also for the better Maintenance & preferment of him hath given 
granted aliened infeoffed (sic) & Confirmed & by these presents doth give 
grant alien infeoff (sic) and Confirm unto the sd Hazlewood Wilkerson that 
Tract or parcel of Land lying & being in the aforesd County on Grassey Creek & 
bounded as followeth Beginning at a Corner hickory on sd Wilkersons line 
thence west on his Said line three Hundred & four poles to a R. Oak on Busbys 
line thence his line South fifty three poles to some Marked trees on the R 
side the rode (sic) thence east three Hundred & four poles to pointers on 
David Smiths line thence along his & Landers lines to the Beg Containing One 
Hundred acres be the same more or less together with the (sic) all the 
appurtenances thereto belonging or appertaining To have & to hold the sd Land 
& all & Singular the premises unto the said Hazlewood Wilkerson his heirs & 
assigns forever & the sd Daniel Grant for himself & his heirs doth Covenant 
grant & agree to & with the sd Hazlewood Wilkerson that him & them shall & may 
at all times hereafter peaceably & quietly possess & Enjoy the sd. land & 
premises & the sd Daniel Grant doth by these presents warrant & forever defend 
the said lands & premises unto the sd Hazlewood Wilkerson his heirs & assigns 
forever against the Claim or Claims of any other person or persons whatsoever 
In Witness whereof the sd Daniel Grant hath hereunto set his hand & Seal the 
day & year above Written
